The Chaplain of Oakland

IN Production

The Chaplain of Oakland tells the story of the once adversarial relationship between two charismatic and powerful women: a deeply community-rooted Black chaplain and a fiery, accomplished Jewish doctor. From within the walls of Oakland California’s Highland Hospital, these committed allies work to transform how Black people die in America.

The film will be accompanied by a national impact and engagement campaign.

Caregiver: A love Story

Caregiver: A Love Story is the tale of one man struggling to care for his dying wife. When 59-year-old Bambi decides to forgo further treatment for her cancer and die at home, her husband Rick leaves his job to become her primary caregiver—a role for which he has no experience and little support.

This film highlights an essential, yet largely unseen workforce—the family caregivers of America, and challenges viewers to acknowledge the growing strain placed on them. The film won Best Documentary Short at the 2020 San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.

Good Docs, our educational distributor, has streamed Caregiver at a variety of schools, libraries, and other organizations. Find them here. If you’d like to bring me to your organization to speak, either live or virtually, find our programs here.
